Here are the top eight things to leave behind.
With 2021 coming to end, there are several things that I hope will go with it. At the top this list is definitely COVID-19 but since I am pretty sure that there will not be a gust of wind at 12 midnight on the first day of 2022 that will somehow magically remove the deadly virus from the four corners of the earth then I present a list of less complex matters that we should have never accepted in 2021 and most definitely should not take into the new year.
Here are the top eight things that all “20 somethings” should leave behind in 2021.
If you are reading this, this is your sign to stop taking on burdens that you know you do not want to carry. Set you boundaries and be firm with them. Do not be forced or pushed or guilted into making compromises especially in situations when saying yes will have a direct negative effect on you mentally or physically. Leave this in 2021
At some point, we have all had those very weak moments where we juxtaposed our lives against the glitz and glamour we see of our age mates on the internet. It’s actually pretty difficult not to do this especially as screen time increases and new social apps/ or sites emerge. But, the time we invest in trying dissect the lives of others could be spent creating the life that is ideal for us as individuals.
If you have to question whether a person is really in your corner or not then chances are they have never demonstrated that they are and you probably should leave then behind with all that is not be desired for the new year. Life is far too fickle to not be one hundred percent certain of those you can count on. Please waste no more time watering the dead grass.
If 2022 is to be a year of growth then we must step out boldly, take big risks, and navigate difficult territories. Sticking to only what is familiar and easy will not get the kind of big results we dream of. Remember always that your comfort zone is a place to be visited, not where we should reside.
I barely have anything super profound to say here. If the job sucks and you feel drained and unfulfilled after several hours of work then devise your exit strategy and leave.
Most of us have mastered the art of procrastination but how about for 2022 we look into the fine art of preparedness. Imagine how much more we could accomplish had we not waited until the appointed time. Let’s give ourselves a real chance to really shine by removing bad habits and replacing them with new and improved ones.
There is no perfect time. The habit just aids in procrastination. The time is now. Move. Do.Go.Start.
Building and maintaining wealth is where it is at for the New Year. While it may be difficult to stop treating ourselves so often or holding off on filling our carts at the next online sale, it’s imperative that in our 20’s we seek out knowledge on good financial practices to help prepare us for the next phase of our lives.
These are at the top of my list of things that will not join me in the New Year. Feel free to share yours!
